This high-energy class focuses on burning fat, gaining strength, and
building endurance. The class may be in various formats, i.e., circuit
(alternating low intensity and high intensity), or 20/20/20 (3-20
minute segments of cardio and sculpting). The cardio segments may
include Step, Low Impact, High Impact, or Kickboxing. A core routine
and final stretch completes the workout. Intensity options are given
for all fitness levels.
Zumba is a mixture of Latin moves, hip-hop, and a touch of
dancing. Zumba exercises are low-impact, yet high-energy. There are
a lot of side-to-side movements and lots of hip shaking. The music has
a Latin and club feel and pumps out infectious beats that make you
want to keep moving, even after the hour is over!
Total Body Conditioning
TBC uses a variety of movements to develop strength, endurance,
balance, coordination and agility. Cardio intervals may often be
interspersed to increase the burn. The exercises performed use a
variety of tools - steps, hand weights, kettle bells, resist-a-balls,
exertubes & your own body weight for resistance - just to name a few.
Improve core control, coordination, standing alignment and balance
with mat exercises. Emphasis is on precise alignment, breathing and
efficient sequencing of flowing movement.
Muscular Strength & Range of Movement
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercise designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and
activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with
handles, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for
seated and/or standing support.
Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and
muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-
body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with
handles, and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with non-impact
aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and
YogaStretch will move your whole body through a complete series of
seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely
perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance
and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final
relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
